RIVERWOODS, Ill. -- December 18, 2003 -- This
holiday season, finding orange could earn five
lucky people a whole lot of green – up to $100,000!
On Saturday, December 20, Discover® Card will
“lose” 50 orange
Fasttrack to Cashback
wallets throughout Manhattan. The first five
people who find the wallets -- and call the toll-free
number provided inside -- will have the chance
to grab up to $100,000 in the
Fasttrack to
Cashback money machine on the main stage in
Times Square, as part of the world's largest New
Year's Eve celebration. The money machine is
a glass booth filled with $100,000 in fake cash.
Once a contestant is in the booth, a fan will
blow the money around while contestants try to
catch as much cash as possible. All five finalists
will walk away with a minimum of $1,000. In addition,
Discover Card will match each contestant's winnings
with a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation International (JDRF).
“
Fasttrack
to Cashback is a wonderful way for us to help
JDRF kick off the New Year,” said Ashoke Dutt,
executive vice president, Discover Financial Services,
Inc. “It's also a terrific opportunity for our
five lucky contestants to begin 2004 with one
of Discover Card's favorite rewards – getting
back CASH.”
To participate in the
Fasttrack
to Cashback event, simply be among the first
five people to find a wallet and call the toll-free
number listed on the instructions inside. The
people who find the remaining 45 wallets and call
the toll-free number will receive a $50 Discover
Gift Card. All contestants must be legal residents
of the U.S., and 18 years or older. For complete

Discover
Card's
Fasttrack to Cashback will take
center stage at 10:00 p.m., on December 31. Celebrity
host Ben Stein, from the Emmy Award-winning
Win
Ben Stein's Money, will lead the celebration.
Each of the contestants will have 30 seconds
to grab for the cash in the
Fasttrack to Cashback
money machine. Mr. Stein will spend 60 seconds
in the money machine and all of his winnings will
be donated to JDRF, the world's largest charitable
funder of research leading to a cure for juvenile
(type 1) diabetes and its complications. This
is Discover Card's sixth year as Worldwide Presenting
Sponsor of New Year's Eve in Times Square.
