Suite of Personalized Gift Cards
RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2007--Discover
Financial Services (NYSE:DFS) announced today the launch of its new
eGift Card. The Discover(R) eGift Card is a prepaid, stored value card
that can be used for purchases online or over the phone at millions of
U.S. merchant locations that accept Discover Card. In a recent survey
by Discover Card, 55 percent of respondents plan to purchase a gift
card this holiday season.
Nearly half (49%) of respondents listed the ability to select the
denomination of their choice as one of the most appealing features for
gift card personalization. Discover eGift Cards allow purchasers to
choose any denomination from $20 to $500 and have it immediately
delivered to its recipient. Additionally, eGift Cards can be
personalized by virtually "embossing" them with a name and personal
greeting. As many as 10 cards can be purchased at one time.

by delivering more choices, convenience, value and personalization,"

Recipients receive an instant, personalized email alerting them of
their gift and are given access to their unique online eGift Card that
can be printed or saved. Purchasers can opt to receive a text message
notifying them when the recipient receives the gift. If the card is
not activated within 30 days of purchase, the funds will be returned
to the purchaser.
Once activated, the eGift Card funds never expire and the eGift
Card is subject to similar fees as that of traditional gift cards. To

In addition to the eGift Card, Discover Card also offers
traditional gift cards in more than 40 different card designs.
Purchasers can make their gift truly unique by taking advantage of the
customization options such as personalized embossing on the plastic
and greeting cards that match the gift card design.
