Free Financial Management Offering Helps Cardmembers Track Their Spending
RIVERWOODS, Ill., Feb 17, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Discover Financial Services (NYSE: DFS) announced today the launch of
its newest financial tool, the Spend
Analyzer. This innovative, easy-to-use online tool is designed to
help Discover(R) Cardmembers get a clearer view of their
spending behavior, so that they know where their money goes.
The Spend Analyzer helps cardmembers better understand their spending
habits by providing a visual representation of their Discover Card
purchases through graphical charts that organize their purchases into
useful categories such as travel, supermarkets, and gas. The financial
tool also allows cardmembers to take a closer look at their spending,
with the ability to drill down to view greater detail and compare
spending behavior over time.
Unlike existing solutions where users must import their personal data,
the Spend Analyzer tool automatically gathers cardmembers' personal card
spending information.
The Discover Card Spend Analyzer's key features:

Provide a visual representation of spending via pie charts and bar
graphs

Enable cardmembers to track and sort spending by category, merchant or
monthly spend

Display up to 24 months of account activity

Allow cardmembers to review average and total number of transactions
per month

Discover Card has introduced a variety of products and services designed
to help cardmembers stay in control of their finances. In January, the
company launched Discover.com Mobile, a mobile version of Discover.com
that allows cardmembers to manage their credit
card account directly from their mobile phone's browser. Also, the Paydown
Planner gives cardmembers a customized look at how long it should
take to pay down their balances over a specific timeframe, while the Purchase
Planner helps them understand how a large purchase could affect
their monthly payment.
