2010 Enterprise Architecture Award Recognizes IT Efforts That Deliver Substantial Business Benefit to Their Companies

RIVERWOODS, Ill., Oct 21, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Discover's efforts to transform its organizational alignment of business and technology objectives across the organization has earned the company a 2010 Enterprise Architecture Award from InfoWorld and Forrester Research.

The awards recognize companies who successfully assess the value of information technology activities and investments in line with business efforts to provide common ground for an organization and its technology arm to work together. Judges selected Discover "due to the transformative nature of (its) architectural initiative and its ongoing impact," said Eric Knorr, editor in chief of InfoWorld Media Group. This is the first award of its kind from InfoWorld and Forrester Research.

Discover's enterprise architecture team of a little more than a dozen people supports all lines of business, including credit card issuing, direct banking and payment services. It also serves corporate stakeholders, including line of business leaders and executive committee members.

Other award winners were Aetna, Barclays Bank, Skandia UK & International and Wells Fargo Bank.
