Discover is starting its gift-giving early this year as the company recently announced a new program with Amazon.com that offers cardmembers Double (2%) Cashback Bonus on up to $250 in purchases each billing period through the end of 2011 at Amazon.com. Discover cardmembers can also pay with Cashback Bonus directly at check-out when they link their card to their Amazon account. This new option allows cardmembers to use their rewards - in a dollar-for-dollar exchange - to get millions of items, when they want them, without having to leave the Amazon site.
Other ways Discover is rewarding cardmembers with clear value this holiday season include:
- 5% Cashback Bonus: Discover cardmembers have the opportunity to earn 5% Cashback Bonusin rotating categories throughout the year up to the specified amount in each category. For example, from October through December, cardmembers can enroll to earn 5% Cashback Bonus on up to $300 in purchases at department stores, clothing stores and restaurants. - Increased Cashback Bonus through ShopDiscover: Discover cardmembers already enjoy earning 5%-20% Cashback Bonus on purchases made through ShopDiscover, Discover's exclusive online shopping mall featuring more than 200 top retailers. Beginning November 13, more than 70 ShopDiscover retailers will increase the Cashback Bonus amount they offer by 5%, with partners such as Crate and Barrel, Macy's and Barnes & Noble, offering 10% Cashback Bonus for a limited time. Many other merchants will offer free shipping on merchandise purchased through the site.
- New Redemption Partners: This season, virtual game lovers will have the opportunity to redeem Cashback Bonus for digital game currency through Electronic Arts and Nexon eCertificates. This new offering allows gamers to play popular online games, including The Sims Social, Pet Society and MapleStory. These games join the 150 other redemption partners Discover currently offers as part of its Cashback Bonus program.
- Exclusive Cardmember Events and Experiences: Discover cardmembers can also redeem Cashback Bonus to access exclusive events, including the option to purchase premium tickets to the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl. The 2012 Discover Orange Bowl cardmember package includes a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the Orange Bowl half-time entertainment show the night before the game, entry to the Orange Bowl Fan Zone on game day and passes to the pre-game Discover Tailgate Party.
