Training Initiative and Employee Learning Culture Recognized by Leading Magazine for Enterprise Learning

RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 2012-- Discover Financial Services is a winner of the Learning! 100 Award by Elearning! Magazine, which recognizes organizations for extraordinary learning, culture, innovation or collaboration that drives performance. Discover was recognized for its flagship skills assessment program which helps evaluate new employees in its call centers.

The program supports workers-in-training to perform as if they were current employees already staffing the call centers. This program is used by Discover to ensure that customers are offered a premier level of customer service.

Discover ranked 19 out of 60 corporate enterprise honorees in the Learning! 100. The Learning! 100 awards are comprised of 60 corporate and 40 public sector organizations from all industries and a variety of organization sizes ranging from five to 1.6 million employees.

“We pride ourselves on creating an excellent environment where professional growth is both encouraged and facilitated,” said Mary Oleksiuk, senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Discover. “Discover has a team of first-class employees who create a culture of always putting the customer first. Without them we could not be recognized as a leader in the financial services industry today.”

The Learning! 100 Award program has a research-based approach. Nominees were evaluated across three criteria: Best-in-Class Learning & Development assessment, Learning Culture index and overall organizational performance.
