Fans Attending 2015 NHL Fan Fair™ will be Treated like Champions, Take Photos with the Stanley Cup® and Other Historic Trophies

RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2015-- In conjunction with the 2015 NHL All-Star Weekend, Discover, the Official Credit Card Partner of the NHL®, is presenting the NHL Trophy Showcase for fans attending the 2015 NHL Fan Fair™.

From January 23-25, fans attending the 2015 NHL Fan Fair™ at the Greater Columbus Convention Center can visit the NHL Trophy Showcase presented by Discover to take a personal photo with the Stanley Cup® and see other historic trophies including, the Prince of Wales Trophy (Eastern Conference Champion), Clarence S. Campbell Bowl (Western Conference Champion), and the Presidents’ Trophy (Best Overall Regular Season Record). The activation is the first time fans attending an NHL All-Star Game have had access to these trophies since 2012.

The NHL Trophy Showcase presented by Discover is open during the following times:

  • Friday, Jan. 23: 3:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 24: 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 25: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Stanley Cup is the oldest and most recognized trophy in professional sports. It was crafted in Sheffield, England in the late 1800s and was first presented in 1893. It is the only trophy in professional sports that is passed along from player to player in the summer their team wins it. The Stanley Cup travels close to 300 days per year and has logged more than 800,000 miles in travel since the 2000-01 NHL season, including trips to Russia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland, Japan, Austria, Germany, Italy, England, Belarus, Ukraine, Belgium, Afghanistan, Dubai, France, the Bahamas and the Arctic Circle. It is made of silver and nickel alloy, weighs 35 pounds and stands at three feet tall. There is only one Stanley Cup, authenticated by the seal of the Hockey Hall of Fame in the bottom of the Cup.
