Scholarship Awards of $2,500 for College Education; Bonus Entries
Available Through Social Shares
RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 10, 2015--
Discover Student Loans is continuing to help cover college costs by
giving away $50,000 in college scholarships. The program will award 20
students between June 2015 and March 2016 with a scholarship of $2,500
to be used for college costs including tuition, housing and books.
Students can increase their chances to win by gaining bonus entries
through social shares.
Students can earn up to three additional entries into the Discover
Student Loans scholarship sweepstakes if they share their original entry
via Facebook, Twitter and/or email. Students who enter also can receive
tips and information on planning and paying for college.
“Discover Student Loans is excited to once again offer our scholarship
program. We realize the important role scholarships play in financing a
college education,” said Andrew Hopkins, vice president of Discover
Student Loans. “We understand from our annual survey that families are
still worried about the cost of college, which is why our scholarship
program, as well as our online scholarship search database, make it
easier for families to find additional free money to be used to pay for
a college education.”
Students planning to attend an accredited, nonprofit, four-year college
or university in the U.S. at least half-time this fall are eligible to
enter the scholarship sweepstakes online starting March 6, and awards
can be used during the 2015-16 academic year. High school seniors and
current undergraduate students are eligible.
Between June 2015 and March 2016, D.L. Blair, Inc., an independent
judging organization, will conduct four random drawings from all of the
eligible entries received and five winners will be selected per drawing.
No purchase or student loan necessary to enter or win.
Discover Student Loans also provides additional scholarship resources
online that allow students to search for more than three million
scholarship and grant opportunities nationwide, which are valued at more
than $18 billion. The database provides personalized results based on
key categories such as career, interests and major. For access to
