Company Named a 2016 Digital Edge Award Winner for Developing
Technology that Drives Measurable Business Results
RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Discover was named a Digital Edge 25 award winner for the development of
the Freeze It(SM) technology, a feature that allows customers
to instantly freeze their credit cards if misplaced or stolen. The
seamless technology allows Discover customers to freeze or unfreeze
their accounts via the mobile app, online browser or by talking with
customer service, providing them an easy-to-use experience while helping
to prevent fraud.
The Digital Edge 25 awards, presented by the AGENDA16
conference and produced by IDG
Enterprise, recognizes 25 organizations that put digital innovation
at the center of their business and continually strive to be on the
“edge” of digital disruption.
“Discover is always creating new and innovative features that help our
customers easily access and take control of their accounts, so we’re
honored that the Digital Edge awards has recognized Freeze It,” said
Rich McGhee, senior vice president of application development for
Discover. “We consider Freeze It a success not only because it gives
customers more peace of mind if a card goes missing, but also because of
the digital technology and agile methods used to bring this security
feature to market.”
Rich McGhee and Laks Vasudevan, vice president of products and
innovation at Discover, will speak about Discover’s award-winning
project alongside other Digital Edge honorees at the AGENDA16
Conference taking place March 21-23, 2016.
“The Digital Edge awards were extremely competitive this year given the
volume of innovative entries with measurable business impact,” said Anne
McCrory, vice president of marketing and content strategy for the IDG
Enterprise events team. “In both the B2B and B2C space, organizations
are doing incredible things with data, mobile, cloud and sensors and
showing great progress in scaling their digital efforts.”
Entries were judged by a premier panel of IT and business executives on
a number of criteria, including complexity and innovation. Only those
organizations with highly significant projects, impressive business
results and superior collaboration among stakeholders made the list.
