Discover Enhances Mobile Experience with Redesigned App Homepage

April 2, 2018

Riverwoods, IL, April 2, 2018 – A more intuitive and personalized experience awaits cardmembers on the Discover Mobile app. The redesigned homepage, which includes an updated layout and the addition of a dynamic call-to-action button, will be available to all cardmembers this spring via an update to the app.

“Our mobile login rate continues to climb, with more than two-thirds of cardmember logins taking place on smartphones and tablets in early 2018,” said Szabolcs Paldy, vice president of e-business for Discover. “Mobile-first thinking is key to offering a best-in-class customer experience, and our redesign emphasizes ease of navigation and personalization.”

The redesign includes the adoption of a tile format that highlights key information for cardmembers, such as their account summary and Cashback Bonus® balance. The new layout also embraces personalization with a call-to-action button that appears when, for example, a cardmember is both nearing their credit limit and credit line increase eligible. When tapped, the call-to-action button brings the eligible cardmember to the credit line increase request page.

The redesigned homepage is the latest enhancement to the Discover Mobile app, which also includes:

  • In-App Messaging, a customer service option that enables cardmembers to communicate with Discover’s live U.S.-based customer service agents without having to stop and restart numerous interactions
  • Freeze it®, an on/off switch that enables cardmembers to freeze their accounts in seconds if they misplace their cards to prevent new purchases, cash advances and balance transfers
  • Apple® Touch ID and Face ID to sign in on supported iOS devices, and Apple® Siri functionality for Apple® users
